Ilaria Lampronti, graduated with honor in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology, Ph.D in Medicinal chemistry, is Associate Professor of Molecular biology at the University of Ferrara (Italy), Department of Life Sciences and Biotechnology.
Her research area is focused on molecular basis of human cancer and hereditary diseases, pharmaceutical biology and pharmacogenomics. In particular: (a) study of transcription factors in gene transcriptional regulation; (b) drug discovery; (c) biomedical and biotechnological applications of peptide nucleic acids (PNA); (d) molecular strategy to modify gene expression in the treatment of cancer, thalassemia, cystic fibrosis; (e) development of new anti-inflammatory agents for the treatment of the cystic fibrosis pulmonary disease.
She is author of 130 scientific publications on international journals and books, from 1996 to 2020, in the fields of molecular biology, cystic fibrosis, pharmaceutical sciences, oncology and hematology, 4 book’s chapters, and co-inventor of patents concerning the development of drugs aimed to the treatment of thalassemia and cystic fibrosis.
